Erratum – Édition de mai 2008
Dans cette édition du Communauté FK, en page 4, sous l’intertitre Le dépistage, on lisait : Si le père est porteur du gène, le risque de donner naissance à un enfant atteint de fibrose kystique est de un sur quatre et celui qu’il soit seulement porteur du gène de deux sur quatre. Dans le cas contraire, le risque que l’enfant soit atteint diminue à un sur cinquante.
On aurait dû lire : Si le père est porteur du gène [et la mère est atteinte], le risque de donner naissance à un enfant atteint de fibrose kystique est de [un sur deux et l’enfant sera assurément porteur du gène. Si un seul parent est atteint, dans ce cas-ci la mère], le risque que l’enfant soit atteint diminue à un sur cinquante, [et ce, en ne sachant pas si l’autre parent est porteur ou non.]
Erratum – May 2008 edition
In this edition of CF Community, on page 4, under the heading The Genetic Screening, we wrote:
If the father carries the gene, the risk of giving birth to a child with cystic fibrosis is one in four, and the risk of the child being a carrier of the gene is two in four. If the father tests negative as a carrier, the risk that the child will have CF drops to one in fifty.
That should have read: If the father carries the gene and the mother has CF, the risk of giving birth to a child with cystic fibrosis is one in two, and the child will almost certainly be a carrier. If only one parent has CF, in this case the mother, the risk that the child will have CF decreases to one in fifty regardless of whether the other parent is a carrier. |
